In 1981 Bill Carlson closed the doors to his dream of owning a local hardware store.  As he sat with his family for dinner, searching for direction, he looked around the table and realized it was right there.  At that moment Bill decided he would do whatever he could to help other small, local businesses succeed in a new world, filled with pitfalls.  Shortly after he signed up for classes at Webber University and embarked on a new journey. Four years later Bill was excited to graduate from college the same year his oldest son finished high school.  Carlson Accounting was born in 1986.

 

In 1996, Jeff Carlson, Bill's younger son, joined his firm as a staff accountant.  Jeff quickly integrated into the family-operated business by adding his financial and management consulting expertise to their knowledge base.  While learning the business Jeff completed his MBA and an accounting degree which enabled him to become a Certified Public Accountant.

 

We’ve grown several times over the years both internally and through acquisitions of other local accounting and tax practices.
